Jane qualified as a teacher in 2004 and has since taught a wide variety of ages, abilities, backgrounds and nationalities.
She began her career working in Primary schools and then moved on to working with young people with Special Needs, both medical and behavioural. She has recently returned from living in the US where she taught in an international independent school. For some of the pupils, English was a foreign or second language, and therefore Jane amended lessons to meet their needs.
Throughout her career, Jane has always provided private tuition face-to-face and online; and each year marks iGCSE Maths examination papers. Due to having worked in a wide variety of situations, Jane has a comprehensive understanding of progression in Mathematics, common misconceptions and what is needed to achieve great results in exams.
By building positive relationships and targeting individual needs, the pupils that I work with gain confidence and motivation. Their experiences of Maths in school and the real world often means they have negative feelings towards the subject. My enthusiasm for the subject is clear, and I adapt lessons to each individual's need to ensure their improvement and enjoyment.
